Talking With Your Kids About Disasters/Emergencies

For years I had heard about floods in Boulder. The forms came home many times a year in my kids’ folders from school. I glanced at them. Recycled them. Went on my way.

After the September Floods I get it. Here is some information about how to speak to your kids about different natural disasters. The idea is that knowledge is power. You don’t have to scare your kids, but simply talk about who your family handles issues when they come up.
