Listed here are some great family events. Most are free. They are all opportunities to be together as a family and engage your kids of all ages. HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEK!

Friday, June 8

  • Children’s Storytime at the Main Library. 10:15 to 11:00am. Free. Ongoing activity.
  • Family Game Night. Meadows Branch Library. 4:00 to 6:00pm. Fun for the whole family!
  • Family Movie Friday: Toy Story. Join the Boulder Public Library to watch Toy Story on the big screen. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. Free. 3:30 to 4:45pm.
  • Family Movie Friday: Hugo. Join the Boulder Public Library to watch Hugo on the big screen.Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.  Free. 6:30 to 8:45pm.

Saturday, June 9

  • CU Wizards: Black Holes on June 9
  • Boulder History Museum Family Day: Mining. Noon to 4:00pm. Free with museum entry.
  • French/English Storytime at the Main Library. 10:15 to 11:00am. Free.
  • Children’s Storytime at the Main Library. All ages. Free. 10:15 to 11:00am. Ongoing activity.
  • Dream Big Concert with Mary Sue and Cari at George Reynolds Branch Library. 11:00 to Noon. All ages. Seating limited so please call 303-441-3120 to reserve a space.
  • Boulder Farmer’s Market. 8:00 to 2:00pm. 13th Street between Arapahoe & Canyon Blvd. Great opportunity for families to purchase locally grown produce, eat delicious food, listen to live music and so much more! A Boulder kids’ favorite.

  • Boulder Museum of Contemporary Arts [BMOCA] Check out Art Stop which provides FREE guided art activities for kids on Saturdays during the Farmer’s Market. I have heard that they have a space where you can throw a cup at the wall. Kids love it! 8:00am to 2:00pm. All ages
  • Dream Big Concert with Mary Sue and Cari at the Meadows Branch Library. 3:00 to 4:00pm. All ages. Seating limited so please call 303-441-3120 to reserve a space.
  • *National Get Outdoors Day. There are lots of activities going on around town. Rocky Mountain National Park is offering FREE entrance fees.
  • *Wildlands Restoration Volunteers is offering a their Boulder Prairie Environmental Education Camp. This camp is FREE for kids age 6 to 12 in conjunction with National Get Outdoors Day. For more info go to the link or meghan@vlrv.org.

Sunday, June 10

  • *Boulder Jewish Festival 2012 on June 10 from 11:00 to 5:00pm
  • Destination: Ice Age brought to us by OSMP. Learn about the mammoths who lumbered through Boulder 12,000 years ago with naturalist Dave Sutherland. Reservations required: 303-441-3440. All ages. 1:00 to 3:30pm.
  • Go Club for Kids & Teens at the Main Boulder Library. 2:00 to 5:30pm. Ages 5 and up. Free. “Learn to play the ancient and mysterious game of Go.”

Monday, June 11

Tuesday, June 12

  • Children’s Storytime @ George Reynolds Branch Library. 10:15 to 11:00am. Free. Ongoing activity.
  • Lap Babies at the Main Boulder Library. Babies up to 12 months explore books & stories with their caregivers. 10:15 to 11:00am. No older children, please! Free. Ongoing activity.
  • Tumbling/Movement Class Demos at the JCC. Free. 12-30 months: 10:00 to 10:30am & 2.5 to 5 years: 10:40 to 11:10am.
  • *BATS! at the Boulder Public Library. Come see live bats, hear about bats and see amazing photos of bats. Music and interaction are a part of this experience. 11:00 to Noon at the Canyon Theater.

  • Toddler Time at the Boulder Main Library. Ages 13 to 36 months with caregiver. 10:15 to 11:00am. Free. Ongoing activity.
  • *Born to Be Wild…In Colorado. This is an educational multimedia presentation, including live animals, brought to us by the Boulder Public Library. All ages. Free. Canyon Theater. 11:00 to Noon.
  • Open Tumble Time at the JCC. $5 for your young one to play and learn in the JCC’s Tumble Room. 9:00 to 11:00am and 2:00 to 4:00pm.
