• Boulder Farmer’s Market. Meet your farmers, do some artwork, get some lunch. There is always so much going on at the market! 8:00am to 2:00pm.
• FREE Day at BMoCA. Join them all day to delight in their exhibits or stop by during the Farmer’s Market for a fun kids craft.
• Fundraiser: Celebrating Lyons, One Brick at a Time. This is a fun musical fundraiser great for the whole family. 2:00 to 5:00pm.
• Grand Opening of the South Boulder Pumpkin Patch. Near the Table Mesa Shopping Center at 3485 Standford Street. 4:00 to 8:00pm.
• Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde presented by Theater Hikes Colorado at Chautauqua. This is a unique opportunity for families to enjoy the outdoors, hiking and theater. It is appropriate for children 8 and up. Buy tickets ahead of time here. 3:00pm.

Sunday, October 13

• Nature for Kids & Parents: Looking at Leaves. Take a hike in the woods with Naturalist Debora Martin and enjoy the beauty of Autumn. We’ll use our senses, record on our observation sheets, and go on a scavenger hunt!  Meet at the Lehigh Street entrance to Shanahan Ridge (map search 1903 Lehigh Street in Boulder, where Lehigh and Lafayette Streets intersect) for a hike on Shanahan Ridge Trail. 1:00pm. Ages 6 and up.
• Go Club for Kids & Teens. Learn to play the ancient and mysterious board game known as Go. Developed 4000 years ago in China, the rules are so simple they can be taught in a few minutes–but it can take a lifetime to master the game. Go boards are provided and take-home sets made of cardboard are available for free. Ages 5 and up.

• Boulder Folders–Learn Origami. Informal origami workshops for people aged 10 and older or experienced younger folders accompanied by an adult. Please bring your own paper if you have it. 6:30pm at the Meadows Branch Library.

• Pearl Street Stampedes are fun for the whole family. Come out and cheer on the CU Buffs, listen to band music, and get merry. Starts at 7pm in from of the Boulder County Court House. Free.
• Family Dance Planet’s Friday Family Dance. Family dance fundraiser for flood victims. Avalon Ballroom 6 to 7:30pm. Free to join in. All donations go to support flood relief.
• Friday Storytime at the Main Boulder Library. Come listen to stories. Free. 10:15am.

Saturday, October 5

• FREE Day at the Denver Art Museum. 
• Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Program sponsored by the Boulder Public Library. Kids will learn about wildlife rehabilitation and why it’s important. They’ll also learn what to do if they find an injured or orphaned baby animal, and how they, as kids, can make a difference for their local wildlife. Meadows Branch Library at 3pm.
• Boulder Farmer’s Market. Meet your farmers, do some artwork, get some lunch. There is always so much going on at the market! 8:00am to 2:00pm.

Whether your child needs to practice reading or not they all love reading to the sweet dogs at the library! Practice your reading by reading aloud to one of our calm and certified therapy dogs. They love to be read to and they never criticize! Parents must sign up ahead of time. Call Pam at 303-441-4390 to reserve space.

Explore how we impact the oceans from a thousand miles away, and how the oceans impact you. Hands on science and art activities for the whole family. This is a free event on the CU Campus.
• Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde presented by Theater Hikes Colorado at Chautauqua. This is a unique opportunity for families to enjoy the outdoors, hiking and theater. It is appropriate for children 8 and up. Buy tickets ahead of time here. Starts at Noon.
• Boulder Rural Fire Department’s Spaghetti Dinner is a family friendly event. If you have a truck crazy child this may be the highlight of the year! Eat yummy food, kids play some games, take a tour of the station, and much more. Proceeds benefit fire fighters impacted by the floods.
• LEGO Master Builder Academy. Join Barnes and Noble for a hands-on learning event for kids ages 8 and up. Bring your young LEGO fans to the store where they can master the art of building. 1:00pm.

• Art Night Out has fun for the whole family! From 5:15 to 7:30pm bring the kids and they can enjoy face painting, magic shows, balloon artists, ping pong painting, stilt walkers, paper lantern making, etc. Lantern walk leaves the Lafayette Festival Plaza at 7:15pm. Food is available as well as beer and wine for the parents! This is a FREE event.

• Mapleton Hill PorchFest has some kid friendly musical acts! Check out Basho & Friends. They will be playing a free children’s music show this Sunday, September 22nd at the Mapleton Hill PorchFest from 2:30-4pm near the corner of 5th and Mapleton St. Their music is ridiculously fun and he’ll probably sing some classic kid’s songs as well as originals in English and Spanish.
